About
SJ Artists is a public art and mural agency based in Cape Town. We bring together artists, spaces and ideas to create large-scale works that live in the public realm - on walls, buildings, campuses and urban landscapes.
Our projects span contemporary muralism, environmental graphics and curated art interventions, working with clients who want to activate space through meaningful visual storytelling.
SJ Artists was founded by Shani Judes, a Cape Town–based curator and producer working at the intersection of public art, murals and environmental storytelling. She leads large-scale projects that connect artists with cities, developments and communities, building platforms for collaboration and creative exchange.
Since establishing SJ Artists in 2012, Shani has developed a diverse network of local and international artists, delivering mural campaigns, curated public art initiatives across South Africa and beyond. Her work is rooted in collaboration, with a strong focus on creating meaningful visual experiences in public space.
In recognition of her contribution to public art for over more than a decade, Shani received a Civic Award / Certificate of Recognition from the City of Cape Town.
