DBONGZ

Dbongz Mahlathi (JHB) is a street artist from the township of Mohlakeng located just west of Johannesburg. Mahlathi is a renowned self-taught street artist known for his photorealistic, large-scale portraits celebrating African culture, musicians, and community heroes.

Marti Lund

Marti Lund (Cape Town) is known for his meticulous mixed media paintings. Having
studied at Rhodes University in Grahamstown,
he seamlessly transitions between traditional paintbrushes and spray cans in his work.

MotelSeven

MotelSeven (Cape Town) began her artistic journey by diving into graffiti at the age of 16 and achieving her first solo exhibition at 21. Following several successful gallery exhibitions, she developed a passion for travel and exhibited extensively in Europe and America while also painting on the streets.

Bushy Wopp

Bushy Wopp (Cape Town) is a mural artist, illustrator and designer known for his bold & colourful work. He is inspired by the city’s vibrant street art scene. With a background in graphic design and advertising, Bushy transitioned to mural painting, where he found greater creative freedom. His distinctive style blends comic book and contemporary street art.

Kev7 (KZN)

Kevin Ngwenya (Durban) also known professionally as Kev Seven, is a graffiti and mural artist working between Durban and Johannesburg. Originally from a small remote town in Ladysmith, Kwa-Zulu Natal, he later moved to the township of Umlazi and eventually settled in the inner city of Durban, where his passion for the creative arts flourished.

Johnny Allison

Lelethu Fundakubi

Lelethu Fundakubi is a Cape Town–based visual artist working primarily in painting and portraiture. Her work often centres on the female form, drawing from her own experiences and those of other women. Part of a new generation of emerging South African artists, she explores identity and personal narrative through thoughtful, expressive compositions.

Chris Auret

About

SJ Artists is a public art and mural agency based in Cape Town. We bring together artists, spaces, and ideas to create large-scale works that live in the public realm - on walls, buildings, campuses, and urban landscapes. Our projects span contemporary muralism, environmental graphics, and curated art interventions, working with clients who want to activate space through meaningful visual storytelling.

SJ Artists was founded by Shani Judes, a Cape Town–based curator and producer working at the intersection of public art, murals and environmental storytelling. She leads large-scale projects that connect artists with cities, developments, and communities, building platforms for collaboration and creative exchange.

Since establishing SJ Artists in 2012, Shani has developed a diverse network of local and international artists, delivering mural campaigns, curated public art initiatives, and environmental graphics across South Africa and beyond. Her work is rooted in collaboration, with a strong focus on creating meaningful visual experiences in public space.
